Motor Insurance

Motor Insurance | Sparrowmint Wealth Management Consultancy
General Insurance / Motor

Cover for every vehicle on the road, chosen right the first time.

Motor insurance protects you against the risk of damage or loss to your vehicle, and against third-party liability while it's driven or parked. Third-party cover is compulsory by law in India — comprehensive cover is what actually protects you.

What we cover: Private cars, two-wheelers, passenger-carrying and goods-carrying commercial vehicles — sourced across leading insurers, including renewals.
All-India
insurers compared side by side, so you get the widest choice and the lowest fair premium — not just the first quote.
What we offer

Types of car insurance we offer

Car insurance policies are classified by how much they cover — from the legal minimum to full protection. We help you weigh the trade-off and pick what actually suits your vehicle, usage and budget.

Minimum · legally mandatory Own-damage only Maximum · own damage + third party
Mandatory

Third-Party Car Insurance

The legal minimum in India. Covers injury, death or property damage caused to a third party — it does not cover your own vehicle.

Own Damage

Standalone OD Insurance

Covers damage to your own vehicle only — typically paired with a separate third-party policy you already hold.

Full Cover

Comprehensive Car Insurance

Combines own-damage and third-party liability in one policy — our most recommended option for full peace of mind.

Combined

Bundled Car Insurance

A long-term own-damage cover bundled with a third-party policy, bought together as a single package.

Usage-Based

Pay As You Drive

Premium is linked to how much you actually drive — a fit for low-mileage or occasional drivers.

Multi-Vehicle

Motor Floater Insurance

A single policy covering multiple vehicles owned by the same policyholder, under one sum insured.

After an accident

Filing a claim, done in the right order

A well-run claim avoids delays, unwanted back-and-forth and the risk of outright rejection. Here is exactly what happens, for both comprehensive and third-party policies.

Comprehensive car insurance

Own-damage claim, in four steps

01

Intimate your insurer immediately

Inform the insurance company right away — every policy has a timeline within which you must report an incident to remain eligible for the claim.

02

File an FIR

Register a police FIR at the nearest station as early as possible — it becomes a key document in claim processing and settlement.

03

Schedule the inspection

The insurer arranges inspection within a day or two. Don't get the car towed before that — the surveyor will then direct you to the nearest network garage.

04

Settle the claim

Once repair costs are estimated and approved, confirm what you'll bear out-of-pocket, so you know exactly what to expect at handover.

Third-party car insurance

Third-party liability claim, in four steps

01

Inform the insurer

Report the incident immediately to activate claim assistance and receive a reference number to track your claim.

02

File a police FIR

An FIR at the local police station is a mandatory document for every third-party claim.

03

Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal

The claim is assessed by the tribunal, which passes judgement on financial liability — this stage can take time to conclude.

04

Settlement by the insurer

Once the tribunal rules, the insurer pays the third party directly, against your policy bond, licence, ID proof, tribunal order and (where relevant) medical documentation.
